At Physical Therapy Services, your health and recovery are always our top priorities. While we focus on movement, strength, and rehabilitation, one of the most effective ways to support your overall well-being is incredibly simple — washing your hands.

💡 Why Is Handwashing So Important?

Every day, our hands come into contact with countless surfaces that may carry harmful bacteria and viruses. This includes door handles, gym equipment, phones, and even therapy tools. Washing your hands regularly helps prevent the spread of illnesses like colds, flu, and stomach bugs — all of which can delay your recovery or prevent you from attending therapy sessions.

🧴 When Should You Wash Your Hands?

ree

Whether you’re in the clinic or at home, aim to wash your hands:

  • Before and after your PT session

  • After using the restroom

  • Before eating

  • After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing

  • After touching shared surfaces or equipment

✅ How to Wash Properly

Use soap and warm water and scrub for at least 20 seconds — don’t forget between your fingers, under your nails, and the backs of your hands. When soap and water aren’t available, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer is a great backup.

🧍‍♂️ Clean Hands = Fewer Sick Days = Better Progress

Staying consistent with your physical therapy is key to making progress. Avoiding preventable illness means fewer cancellations, more energy, and faster results.

Let’s work together — for your health, strength, and recovery — one clean hand at a time!
