Covid-19 Protocols at Physical Therapy Services

As we continue to navigate the Covid-19 pandemic, Physical Therapy Services is continuing to put the safety of our patients and staff as our number one priority. All staff, patients, and family members must wear a mask to enter our office. We will provide you with a mask if you forgot yours (accidents happen)!

Temperature checks are taken of all staff, patients, and guests (parents, guardians, drivers, etc. ) prior to their appointment. Any person with a temperature of 100.4 is asked to reschedule their appointment and see their doctor. All patients or drivers are asked if they are experiencing any symptoms of fever, cough, congestion, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, sore throat, headache, loss of smell and/or taste, and fatigue/body aches to cancel their appointment and contact their doctor immediately.

Our unique facility is made up of six individual, private treatment rooms. Each patient stays in their assigned treatment room during the physical therapy session. The room and furniture are disinfected prior to each patient stepping into their room. During your treatment, all weights and equipment do not leave your area until you are finished and they are disinfected by a staff member. After your appointment has finished, the entire room is sanitized and prepared for the next patient.

Around our office, you will find air purifiers and hand sanitizer. There is an air purifier located in the waiting room, secretarial area, and all individual and common rooms throughout the office. They remain on during all operating hours. Pumps of hand sanitizer are located in each room and at the sign in counter. We ask patients to take advantage of the hand sanitizer and use it often throughout their treatment session.

Physical Therapy Services has increased our cleaning protocols to ensure the safety of all of our patients and staff. During the lunch hour and at the end of the night, all private rooms and common areas are sanitized by UV lights. According to the FDA, UVC radiation is shown to destroy the outer coating of the protein of the SARS-coronavirus. This ultimately leads to the inactivation of the virus (1).

Physical Therapy Services is committed to ensuring the safety of the Pompton Plains/Pequannock community. We are proud members of the Pompton Plains community, and will continue to provide the best care possible to all of our patients.

If you have any further questions about our cleaning protocols or about our office, please contact our office at (973)835-6115 or email us at ptspomptonplains@gmail.com
